Abstract

In 1971, the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission Code was originally enacted in 1971 and has been amended by the Legislature almost every session. The Code was originally compiled as Art. 4413(36), Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes. In 2001, the text of the Code was revised and transferred to Chapter 2301, Occupations Code.

In 1993, the Legislature passed H.B. 941 made amendments to the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission Code regarding automobile dealer’s rights and duties in certain situations such as warranty reimbursement, discrimination, waiver of state law, signs, and conversion.
